Born July 6, 1905 at Miranda Stataion on the east side of the Steens Mountain in southeast Oregon, Waltzy Elliott was raised in a ranching family and started working at an early age on the famed Miller & Lux Ranching empire until 1929. He ended his buckarooing days and worked as a grocer for Safeway Stores throughout Nevada for eight years until 1938.
